Machete improvises

Funny back story on that particular line - back when Robert Rodriguez was first fiddling around with the idea behind Machete, he told Danny Trejo about it, and how he wanted Danny for the part…if and when he could get around to working up a proper screenplay.

Danny, however, was gonzo for the idea, and was 110% behind making the movie, and couldn’t wait for Robert to get things worked out.  He kept calling with ideas and suggestions, on and off for weeks, until Robert had to confront him during one such call:  “Danny, *yawn* it’s 3am; couldn’t you just send me a text?”

To which, the indomitable Mr. Trejo replied “Machete don’t text.”  ^_^
